We believe with mutual respect, commitment, integrity, and proper communication we can provide a rich authentic, inspiring environment for children. The knowledge that sparks creativity, inquiry-based play, and outdoor learning is vital to the well-being of children of all ages. By providing such integrated education to our children, we hope to create a sense of belonging, love, and trust.
Building Blocks believes the “quality” of one’s childhood predicts much about the “quality” of one’s future. Therefore, our goal is to give each child, in our homelike school, a slower pace childhood, rich in the kinds of experiences and relationships which optimally prepare them for their life’s journey. Giving them the gift of time.
Our fundamental values are based on the Reggio Emilia Approach that starts with our Image of the Child. We see the child as curious, competent, and capable of co-constructing knowledge. From the moment of birth, children are engaged in a search for the meaning of life, seeking to understand the world that surrounds them and the relationships that they form and develop with others in their world. If we were talking to you on your first day here we would say, “Welcome to planet Earth. There is nothing that you cannot be or do or have. And your work here—your lifetime career—is to seek JOY.”
